The client wanted to create broader connections and break down barriers, this event will bring managers together to socialise with colleagues from different teams and departments, creating opportunities for stronger cross-functional teamwork and communication, all while ensuring a fun and engaging experience for everyone.
Our Solution:
Soap Box Derby, Retro Sports Day and a selection of Food Stalls
Seeking a venue with undeniable “wow” factor, we selected the De Vere Beaumont Estate, and it proved to be the perfect choice. Its expansive outdoor space looked absolutely stunning bathed in sunshine, setting the ideal scene for the day.
The day commenced with an engaging Soap Box Derby, where delegates were divided into teams and tasked with constructing human-powered chariots from flat-pack materials according to a specific brief. Teams swiftly adopted the role of pit crews, racing against the clock to assemble their vehicles and embellish them with unique decorative branding. An entertaining host provided lively running commentary, accompanied by high-intensity background music that motivated and encouraged each team throughout the construction and the subsequent race.
Following the exhilarating derby, the atmosphere shifted to one of nostalgic fun with a series of school sports day games. Teams enthusiastically participated in much-loved classics such as the egg-and-spoon race, skipping race, and sack race, alongside some contemporary twists, all set to a soundtrack of familiar tunes from their younger years, evoking sights, sounds, and plenty of laughter.
After working up a healthy appetite through the day’s activities, the event concluded with a relaxing late lunch. Guests enjoyed a diverse culinary experience, with the client’s selection of three food stalls offering Pizza, South African, and Middle Eastern cuisine. A variety of refreshing beverages were also available to complement the wide array of food options, providing a pleasant and convivial end to the team-building day.
